Human resources parameters
The Human resources parameters configuration serves as the foundational cornerstone for the Human Resources module. It rigidly dictates the global rules, default behaviours, and automated numbering mechanisms that govern all subsequent personnel and organisational data instantiation. Establishing these parameters is an absolute prerequisite prior to the commencement of any further configuration within the module.
Prerequisites
- Number sequences: Prior to configuring the parameters, you must ensure that the appropriate foundational number sequences have been established within the Organisation administration module to govern identification allocation.
Accessing the parameters
- Navigate to Human resources > Setup > Human resources parameters.
- The form is structured via a left-hand navigation pane to categorise distinct parameter settings.
Number sequences
The Number sequences tab houses the critical configurations for automating the assignment of unique identifiers across the human resources domain. Maintaining a robust and unbroken audit trail mandates the strict utilisation of these automated sequences.
Set up number sequences for human resources documents
This section enumerates the specific entities within the module that require automated identification. For each reference, you must map a predefined number sequence.
- Reference: Dictates the specific entity or business process for which the number sequence is being employed (e.g., Personnel numbers).
- Number sequence: Specifies the exact number sequence code resolution to be utilised. This sequence automatically generates identifiers (e.g.,
PER ######) as new entities are created. - Description: Provides a clear explanation of the number sequence's business purpose.
It is paramount that the Personnel numbers sequence is correctly assigned. This sequence serves as the primary, immutable identifier for all employees within the enterprise. Any failure to correctly configure this parameter will impede the instantiation of employee records.
