Overview

The Service Management module handles work done on your customers' equipment: receiving a device, recording the fault, repairing it with labour and parts, and invoicing the job.

This index lists the guides that are available. The module is being delivered feature by feature, so only the screens that exist are documented here.

Setup

  1. Service object groups: the families your devices belong to (inverters, TVs, chargers). Create these first.
  2. Service objects: the devices you service, each in a group and optionally linked to an inventory item.
  3. Symptom and diagnosis areas: the two-level lists, areas with their codes, used to record what is wrong and what was found.
  4. Service stages: the workflow of an order, as a tree of stages with the rules of each.
  5. Service setup lists: service tasks, service stage reason codes, service repair conditions, service repair resolutions and service repair stages.

Trying the module

Sample data: the repair shop's devices, workflow and repair vocabulary that the application installs in development and test environments.

Daily work

  1. Service dashboard: the landing page, with what is open and late, where orders and repairs are in your workflow, and the intake of the last days.
  2. Service orders: take a device in, record the job's devices and charge lines, and set up the order number.

For the ideas behind the module (service objects, service orders, repair lines), read the Service management concept.
