Financial reports

The Financial reports workspace is the centralised reporting engine for generating, viewing, and exporting formal financial statements. Unlike dynamic, on-screen operational inquiries, this module produces static, point-in-time documents suitable for external distribution, auditing, and executive-level review.

Default report definitions

Navigate to General ledger > Reports > Financial reports.

The left navigation pane displays a comprehensive library of Default report definitions. These represent the standard, pre-configured financial statements available within the system:

  • Income statement
  • Balance sheet
  • Cash flow statement
  • Trial balance (The formal, printable version of the inquiry)
  • Various other subledger-specific reports (e.g., Accounts receivable aging).

Generating a report

To produce a new financial statement:

  1. Select the desired report definition from the left navigation pane (e.g., Trial balance).
  2. Click + Generate on the top Action Pane.
  3. (Depending on the specific report's requirements, a dialogue may prompt you to specify temporal parameters or dimension sets).
  4. Upon successful generation, a new historical record will appear in the main grid, meticulously logging the Generated date, Report type, and the specific user who executed the generation (Created by).

Viewing and exporting reports

The central grid maintains a persistent historical archive of all previously generated reports. This ensures you can retrieve exact, point-in-time financial snapshots without needing to constantly regenerate data.

Live Preview

To inspect a generated report directly within the ERP interface:

  1. Select a specific report row from the grid.
  2. The system will automatically render a Live Preview of the document within a dedicated right-hand side pane. This feature allows financial controllers to conduct rapid reviews and variance analysis without ever leaving the application or requiring external PDF viewer software.

Exporting

If you require the financial statement for external distribution, board meetings, or further mathematical manipulation:

  1. Select the target report row.
  2. Utilise the Export actions located on the Action Pane:
    • Download PDF: Generates a secure, immutable document ideal for auditing, archiving, or formal distribution.
    • Download Excel: Exports the raw financial matrix, enabling accountants to perform further ad-hoc calculations, pivot analysis, or external charting.
