Position management

The Position management form represents the culmination of the organisational architecture. A position is the specific, quantifiable instantiation of a Job within a designated Department. Positions represent the actual "seats" within the enterprise hierarchy to which individual Employees are ultimately assigned.

Prerequisites

Prior to creating a position, you must ensure the underlying structural elements exist:

  • Department management: The division housing the position must be defined.
  • Job management: The role blueprint defining the position must be configured.

Accessing position management

  1. Navigate to Human resources > Employees management > Position management.
  2. The grid illustrates the complete structural composition, detailing the Position name, its parent Job, and its designated Department.

Creating a position

To allocate a new seat within the organisational structure:

  1. Select New from the Action Pane.
  2. In the Position name field, provide a highly specific identifier for this instance of the role (e.g., Assistant Accountant, HR Manager).
  3. Select the appropriate Job to inherit the overarching role blueprint.
  4. Select the corresponding Department to anchor the position within the operational hierarchy.
  5. Select Save to finalise the creation of the position.
Important

The accurate configuration of positions is critical. An employee cannot be hired or assigned duties without being formally linked to an active position via the Assignment process.
