Leave transactions
The Leave transactions page provides a comprehensive, granular view of all quantitative movements within the absence management module. It acts as the definitive ledger for every hour or day of leave accrued, granted, or consumed across the enterprise.
Viewing transactions
To audit the historical leave activity for a specific plan, navigate to Absence management > Leave plans. Select the target plan from the list, open it, and from the Ledger action toolbar, select View transactions.
The resulting grid surfaces the following critical data points for every ledger entry:
- Employee: The individual to whom the transaction belongs.
- Leave plan: The overarching quantitative framework generating the transaction.
- Leave type: The specific qualitative category (e.g., Annual Leave, Sick Leave).
- Transaction date: The exact UTC date the ledger movement was effected.
- Amount: The signed quantitative value. Positive values signify an addition to the employee's balance (e.g., an accrual), whilst negative values signify a deduction (e.g., consumed leave).
- Transaction type name: The classification of the movement (e.g., Accrual, Grant, Usage, or Adjustment).
Immutable ledger architecture
The Leave transactions ledger is strictly append-only. Once a transaction is formally posted to this ledger (for example, via the automated monthly accrual job), it cannot be modified or deleted.
Should a calculation error occur, or an employee's historical entitlement need retroactive correction, an administrator must post a new, compensatory Adjustment transaction to mathematically offset the erroneous entry. This design preserves a complete, tamper-evident audit trail required for compliance and workforce analytics.
